Can You Name This Photographer?

We are looking for the name of the photographer who made the pictures. Not the name of the subject in the photographs. I'll mention, from the getgo, that the photographs are not by Richard Avedon. No other clues. The Winner will get a replica of the actual T-shirt worn by the gentleman in the picture! Nipples not included.

"There Is a Crack In Everything..."

I have a tendency to veer towards the sentimental and the romantic. Always poison when aiming for clear and persuasive expression. At times I need to steer myself to avoid falling into this trap. But, after the recent winter, the economy, war and politics, it was difficult, when stepping out of doors on early and warm weekend mornings, to not feel... well..... hopeful. So after taking measure of some of what truly matters, spring, family, a Cheeseburger Deluxe with a milkshake, I'll drop a few pictures and a quote from Leonard Cohen.

"Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in."

"What's Your Name, Man? "

A fun, if dated, mini bio on Robert Frank from Houston Public Television. I'm guessing it was made about 30 years ago. I believe part of it is narrated by Allen Ginsburg. There are some short interviews with Loius Faurer and Elliot Erwitt in the mix as well. Worth watching

Four by Faurer

Probably better known for his association and friendship with Robert Frank than for his work, Louis Faurer is one of those great photographers who seems to always fly just below the radar.

Sprung

It seemed, as it has for every year, that spring would never come. I'm happy to say that it's finally here!

Early Wegman

Before the Children's books, the postcards, the calendars, the posters and all the other various ancillary publishing, monetizing revenue streams there were these gritty, simple, charming and funny conceptual pieces. You can see more HERE.

The Landscape of Graceland and Neverland

There has been a lot of press lately about the auction that Michael Jackson is holding to sell off many of his former possessions that, like Jackson himself, once inhabited his Neverland Ranch. It's a shame that Michael Jackson never commisioned someone like William Eggleston to photograph the Neverland Ranch when it was occupied and in full swing. Eggleston would have been the perfect Medium and we can only imagine the pictures he would have conjured there. It's a loss to see Jackson's curious and eccclectic personal treasures removed from their context and described only as necessary to facilitate a quick sale.
