Mehol

A Warhol self portrait recently sold in auction at Sothebys for an astounding $32.6 million. Impressive. So impressive that I've decided to offer up my own personalized version, a "Me Hol" for a either a mere $32 and 60 cents, or to the highest bidder.

Ode To A Bad Cab

Riding in a cab can be a very sucky experience. I had a cab ride from hell today. While I'm sure I'll change my mind I'm vowing to only take the subway from here on out. I wrote this little poem to describe my experience.

The Low Down On The High Line

video

I visited the High Line here in New York for the first time today. I live only a few short miles away and while I've walked and driven by it countless times I've somehow accidentally managed to avoid finding myself up on top. Until today. What little I could see of it seems to be beautifully done. You have to greatly admire the folks who had the vision and perseverance to get it completed. Based on my visit there today I'm guessing that the best day to visit would be a nice cool, damp and rainy week day in Late November when you might be able to experience the place unpopulated. A sunny Spring Sunday like today is not the time to go. On a day like today you would have to be high to want to spend any time on the High Line. The narrow park was so crowded that it bordered on being dysfunctional. It wasn't a park so much as a torrid moving human trout stream where the main variety of fish was not trout but a non native invasive species of tourists in over expressive sunglasses and hats. They seemed intent on making their way upstream as aggressively as possible in a fevered pitch that can only be compared to Salmon flipping and flopping their way upstream in order to spawn and die. I had hoped to try and make a few pictures while there but found myself so grumpy and out of sorts that the only take away I have is this little clip from taking the elevator up to the entrance.
