If you should find yourself in Corona, Queens, and you know you will, then you owe it to yourself to stop by the Louis Armstrong house for a tour. Armstrong lived here in this modest, nondescript Queens neighborhgood from 1943 until his death in 1971. The interior, which our tour group was strictly forbidden to make pictures of, is one of the best preserved time capsules of an original, super groovy, tricked out, 1960's pop star aesthetic that you will ever see! Elvis Presley's Graceland is a close second, but the Armstrong house, like the man himself, sings with an ebullient and joyful authenticity that has no match.
