Will fly together. So many of us were riveted, and surprised, by the recent story of the US Airways jet that safely landed on the Hudson River. It was forced to make an emergency landing there after a number of birds accidentally entered, and destroyed, its engines. Unsurprisingly bird and plane encounters have been happening since the invention of flight. The first image is from the archives of the New York Times.
